This is sort of a murder ballad. Our poor protagonist, as he wanders the desert, dying, reflects back on his lost love. First, he loved her, then he killed her.

The lyrics also have some references to TS Elliot's The Wasteland.

Verse 1:
I hear her whisper on the wind
I see it all go down again
I feel the weight of my sins
Bearing down, on my soul, where I lay

Verse 2:
I feel the sun beating down
the vultures circle around
I still hear the sound
of her cries, in the night, where she lay me down
soft sweet sighs in the wind

Verse 3:
I feel the burning of the sand
Im lost in this wasted land
I feel the weight of it in my hand
I brought it down, to the ground, where she lay

Verse 4:
In dust I see fear rise,
I know my time is nigh,
I still see that violet sky
In the cold, dark night, where I lay her down,
Her eyes last light, fires burning out,
Her soft sweet cries, on the cold, cold ground,
Her breath, a whisper on the wind
